Xbox 360 w doesmy not read DVD and HDCP says when trying to play through the TV?
just got an Xbox 360 Elite and trying to play discs Normal DVD, but so far no luck keeps saying no connection HDCP secure what ever that means. that is through DVI to HDMI. as always on the VGA TV works well. What is it?
this is tuff to explain: HDCP is a technology of protection of copyright built into the hardware that uses HDMI and DVI. ie, xbox360, setopbox, tv, etc av Ampère both machines must have HDCP to function properly. a machine that sends the Scambler (Ie Xbox 360) The other machine that decodes the signal received (TV, for example). I guess your problem is that the TV is old and is not HDCP complient. TV can not decode the signal received from the Xbox. HDCP only works in HDMI and DVI connections. so can not watch movies on your current setup, but you can see if you connect via VGA. You would have the same problem with a PS3 when connected in the same way. from a historical perspective. DVI was developed and came from Intel (Chip maker) designed HDCP which became part of the HDMI specification.
