Why is my brother wearing a green Army vest over his uniform?
In the photo, which I included as a link, why is he wearing a vest over his already hot outfit while he’s in the desert.

It’s a green vest over the top of his desert fatigues.
I THINK they’re called desert fatigues.
It looks like it would be sweltering in that get-up during 120-140 degree weather. He said it got up to 140 one time.
The link doesn’t work, but commonly when we are in a combat zone we wear Individual Body Armor for protection. Things are much quieter in Iraq, but it is still policy.
