minidv, betacam & digital betacam?
these 3 formats from different eras contrast a lot, i want to know can some help me compare these as what advantages/disadvantages does each format have to one another?
Betacam SP is still in wider use because it’s been around longer.
Betacam SP, while only 330 lines of horizontal resolution, holds this better over a wider range of the bandwidth than MINI DV
Betacam SP is 4:2:2 while DV is 4:1:1
Betacam SP as less artifcats than Digital Betaxmax or DV
Betacam records the entire bandwidth, which Mini DV and Beatmax Digital use 5:1 compression
Even DV CAM and DV PRO still use compression.
Betacam SP uses larger CCDs then Mini DV
